Tempting Layover
Monday was the first rest day of the three-week Tour. The race resumes Tuesday with a flat stage from Bordeaux to Dax in southwest France.
Nothing like a rest day spent in the terroir of the Bordeaux. See, this is the reason why Master would never make it in the Tour de France. Okay, there are others. But seriously, the rooster would barely be done crowing and he'd be up and at 'em, inviting the team for a fun ride up to Chateaux Margaux (his favorite in the Bordeaux) for a barrel tasting, or two, or maybe three or more. And then maybe a spin over to the Pessac-Léognan to swirl a vintage or two, or three or more of, oh, I don't know, maybe an opulent Chateau Malartic? What could be better? Well in truth maybe eating French Gougéres from the lap of a beautiful woman. There is that. Either way, a man could easily lose his bearings, succumb to all the decadence of the Bordeaux, and forget he ever was a bike racer. Or wish he was.
